|
|
We have been experimenting with DSLRs, but this wedding is the first one that I have had fast glass for our DSLR.
The Prep and Ceremony were shot with our trusty Panasonic HMC150s. The B&G entrance to the Reception, Toasts and wide shots from the First Dance were shot with the HMC150. The rest was shot with the Canon T2i using the following lenses.
Zenitar 16mm f/2.8
Canon 28mm f/1.8
Nikon 50mm f/1.4
Rokinon 85mm f/1.4
This Highlight started out as a SDE, which was shown at the reception venue. We then tweaked some shots and added voice over to make it a full blown highlight.

Very nice Highlight...
About DSLRS, do you think that it is possible to shoot an entire wedding using 2 or 3 DSLRS camera? Which model is the best now?
I read that DSLRS can not shoot longer than 12 minutes... It is a problem in shooting weddings...
Thanks. _________________ Marcelo Navarro

Hi Marcelo,
Thanks. I know several people that are shooting the entire wedding day on DSLRs, so it is very possible.
As far as model numbers, the Canon T2i is almost identical in it's video functions to the Canon 7D, but the T2i is only about $800. The 7D is about $1600.
It is true that todays DSLRs can only shoot 12 minutes at a time, so you either need to plan out your start and stop times with you other DLSR shooter during the ceremony, or have a third camera rolling. I know several guys are shooting with 2 DSLRs for the ceremony and then running a regular video camera as a cover shot.
Then you can also use the regular video camera to send the wireless mic feed to. You do not want to send the wireless mic feeds to the DSLR. _________________ All My Best,

Thanks again Mark.
Regarding Canon T2i, what is the file size for 12 minutes of recording ? Does it record on AVCHD ?

Hi Marcelo,
I beleive the T2i records 4 gb in about 12 minutes. Depending on how much compression is going on, you may get a little more than 12 minutes, but not a lot.
It records an MOV, not AVCHD. The T2i records on SDHC cards like the HMC150 where the 7D and 5D MkII record on CF cards. _________________ All My Best,
